Unicorn on the cob.

Just one of the many.

I seem to get annoyed easily by many things. Well, people mostly. But things also. Today, I’m going to talk about track listings. Like, you know… on albums? It’s not even that this annoys me, I just don’t understand it. Let’s see if I can word this right. I don’t like it when the only one word songs on the album are listed one after the other. For instance, (these are Mariah Carey songs, not all from the same album) when the track listing goes something like this:

1. Through The Rain 2. You Got Me 3. Yours  4. Clown 5. Bliss 6. Shake It Off 7. To The Floor 8. Don’t Forget About Us 9. I Wish You Well 10. Side Effects

Know what I mean? Numbers three, four and five were all one word, and even worse, one syllable. In a mixture of ten songs. I just don’t get why they wouldn’t be mixed together better. Another thing about album track lists, is when 2 or more consecutive songs end with the same word. For instance, ‘Love’. Like this:

1. Strong Enough 2. Maybe I Won’t Look Back 3. Hesitation 4. So Simple 5. Before Your Love 6. Without Love 7. Addicted

Five and six end the same way. Or even when songs consecutively begin with the same word. Like ‘The’. I don’t think I need to do examples anymore, you get it I’m sure.

But even so, it’s not that this ‘annoys’ me so much as, I don’t understand why someone doesn’t catch on to this sort of thing before the track listing is made permanent. Though I guess some people plan theirs this way, cool. But I don’t get it.

Oh yeah, and I absolutely hate when there are typos in the lyrics in the album artwork or thank you’s. I mean that has got to go through quite a few people before making it to print, right? How does no one catch these things? How could I get a job doing such a public service, I wonder?
